Accessibility

We want this site to be usable by everyone, including people using screen readers, keyboard-only navigation or magnification. Here is where we stand honestly.

Our commitment

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We test as we build, but we are a small team and we do not claim full conformance — an independent audit has not been carried out. Where we know something falls short, it is listed below rather than glossed over.

What we have done

  • Semantic structure. Real headings in order, landmarks, lists and tables with proper header cells, so a screen reader can navigate the page structurally.
  • Keyboard access. Every interactive control — menus, product tabs, image galleries, filters, the search suggestions list — is reachable and operable by keyboard. A "Skip to content" link is the first thing in the tab order.
  • Visible focus. A clear focus outline is drawn on every focusable element and is never removed.
  • Contrast. Body text meets or exceeds 4.5:1. Our primary colour measures about 7.7:1 on white, which passes AAA for normal text. Colour is never the only way information is conveyed — stock status carries a text label as well as a coloured dot.
  • Labels and errors. Every form field has a visible, associated label. Validation errors are announced in text next to the field, not by colour alone, and the first failing field receives focus.
  • Images. Product and brand images carry descriptive alternative text; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Motion. All animation is disabled automatically when your system is set to "reduce motion". There is nothing that flashes or auto-plays.
  • Zoom and reflow. The layout is fluid and remains usable at 200% zoom and at narrow widths without horizontal scrolling. Wide tables scroll within their own container rather than forcing the page sideways.
  • Live updates. Cart confirmations are announced through a polite live region so they are not missed.

Known limitations

We are aware of the following and intend to address them:

  • Google sign-in button. The button is rendered by Google and we cannot change its markup. Email-and-password sign-in is available as a fully accessible alternative.
  • Price range slider. The maximum-price filter is a native range input, which is keyboard-operable but can be imprecise with a screen reader. Every product is also reachable without it, and the price is stated on each card.
  • Manufacturer specifications. Specification tables are reproduced as supplied by the maker; occasionally a manufacturer's abbreviation is not expanded. Ask us and we will explain any figure.
  • Product photography. Alternative text describes what the product is rather than every visual detail of the image.

Using assistive technology

We test with recent versions of NVDA and VoiceOver in Chrome, Firefox and Safari, and with keyboard-only navigation. If you use a different combination and hit a problem, tell us which software and version — it makes the fix much faster.

Alternative ways to order

You never have to use this website to buy from us. Call +1 (202) 899-9143 (Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 18:00 ET) and we will take the order, read specifications aloud, compare options with you, and send the confirmation in whatever format suits you. There is no price difference for ordering by phone.

You can also email sales@megastardistribution.com with what you need and we will reply with a quote you can accept by return.

Tell us about a problem

If any part of this site prevents you from doing something, we want to know. Email sales@megastardistribution.com with the page address and what went wrong.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 2 business days and to fix confirmed barriers as a priority. If a fix will take time, we will tell you and offer a way to complete what you were trying to do in the meantime.
